A wedding in a fairytale garden

Two long-term friends who had fallen for each other, a pretty vineyard nestled in parklands and a majestic mountain range, and a wild array of native flowers touched by the gentlest hint of pink – Bec and Mathew’s summer wedding at Margan Estate was as relaxed and effortlessly charming as their love story. It was quiet beauty meets timeless sophistication, and it was an incredibly special day.

Bec’s bouquet and bridesmaids’ bouquets featured the very best of Australian flora, including king proteas, hypericum berry and geraldton wax. Fluffy, full-headed ivory dahlias and blush garden roses heightened the romance of the floral vision, and were intertwined with masses of foliage in dreamy, muted tones for a soft and delicate look. Walking through scattered petals in the garden and up to the wooden arbour adorned with brilliant pink flowers and long-leaf gum felt like a momentary escape to a faraway fairy tale land.

Inside Margan’s rammed earth barrel room, Bec and Mathew treated their 75 guests to sharing platters and an understated and elegant semi-naked cake. Silvery dollar gum reflected the twinkling candlelight and filled this intimate space with warmth and a romantic glow.

Much of 2020 was chaotic and overwhelming for everyone, so it was such a welcome joy for us to finish the year with this picture-perfect celebration of love. Congratulations to the happy couple!
